MasterCard employees have always known that our company values diversity, meaning every employee regardless of race, ethnicity or sexual orientation can make a difference. Employees are encouraged to join one of eight employee-led Business Resource Groups which encourage diversity and contribute to an inclusive culture as well as help drive business growth.
MasterCard employees aren’t the only ones that recognize the great work we’ve been doing to foster such a welcoming environment. I am proud to work at a company that has just been recognized by The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a ranking of U.S. businesses for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) equality in the workplace. In fact, MasterCard has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the 2013 CEI “Best Places to Work for GLBT Equality.” This is a testament to the value that Business Resource Groups, and specifically the PRIDE group, bring to MasterCard.

Some examples of the great work MasterCard is doing for the GLBT community include: Participating in the annual AIDS Walk NY; displaying the PRIDE flag in our company lobby year round; and helping to get Transgender health benefits included in MasterCard’s annual benefits for 2013.
We hope our commitment to diversity as a company will resonate with cardholders, customers, issuers and merchants as we work together to create a more inclusive World Beyond Cash.
